Sugared Kinkan

These are an absolutely delicious example of Japanese festival food: sugared kinkan. Kinkan are small citrus fruits, similar to a mandarin. The bitterness of the kinkan is offset by the sugar, and the result is amazing. I think it made for a beautiful show of color, as well!
